Board Director - Rhubarb Farm

Since 2018, I have had the privilege of serving as a Board Director and Trustee for Rhubarb Farm, a charity and social enterprise dedicated to supporting individuals facing complex and diverse challenges through therapeutic horticulture, skills development, and community engagement.

Rhubarb Farm provides opportunities for people experiencing mental or physical ill health, social isolation, unemployment, recovery from substance misuse, disability, and other barriers to wellbeing. Through practical activities, training, environmental projects, and food-growing initiatives, the organisation helps individuals rebuild confidence, develop new skills, and reconnect with their communities.

The values that underpin Rhubarb Farm strongly reflect my own. Throughout my career, I have seen first-hand how education, support, and opportunity can transform lives. Rhubarb Farm demonstrates this every day by providing an environment where individuals are encouraged to develop skills, gain confidence, and realise their potential.

As a Board Director, I contribute to the strategic governance and long-term development of the charity, supporting growth initiatives, partnership development, funding opportunities, and organisational sustainability. I have also played a role in establishing training provision and supporting projects that have expanded the reach and impact of the organisation.

What inspires me most is seeing the tangible difference that the charity makes to people's lives. Every success story represents someone who has been given the opportunity to move forward with greater confidence, independence, and hope for the future.
